  1. Click on Start, Devices and Printers, right click on the copier and choose Printing Preferences.
  2. Under Job Type, choose Stored Print.
  3. Click on the details tab and choose a username and, if you want, a generic document name and password.
  4. Click OK to get out of the details tab, then click Apply and OK.  The printer is now set to store your print job instead of automatically printing it out and interrupting someone’s copying.

From this point on, when you want to print to the Copier

  1. When you are in the document you want to print, choose File, Print and then choose the copier.  Select the number of copies and settings as usual.
  2. Go to the Copier, touch Printer, Print Jobs tab, then your ID.
  3. Touch your username on the screen, then touch Print, (if you created a password above, it will prompt you for it now) then Print again.
  4. When you no longer need the document saved to the copier, please delete it by touching the document and choosing delete.

Instructions on recovering a deleted file or folder:

1. Open Documents by clicking the Start button , and then clicking Documents.

2. Click the arrow next to Folders at the bottom of the left pane.

3. In the Folders list, open the folder that contained the file or folder that was deleted or renamed.

4. Right-click somewhere in the folder (without selecting a file or folder), and then click Restore previous versions.

5. Double-click a previous version of the folder that contains the file or folder you want to restore. (For example, if a file was deleted today, choose a version of the folder from yesterday, which should contain the file.)

6. In the folder, drag the file or folder that you want to restore to another location, such as your desktop or another folder.

The version of the file or folder is saved to the location that you selected.

To access your network drives from home:

Go to https://viewportal.msdpt.k12.in.us/

Download the View Client (not View Client with Local Mode)
1. If an information bar appears, click on it and select “Download File”.
2. Click “save” to download the file to your computer.
3. Double click the file to start the install.
4. Follow the installer steps to install the View Client. Default Connection Server: viewportal.msdpt.k12.in.us
5. If prompted, restart to complete installation

Once it is installed, launch the view client and connect.

Login using your normal computer login and select any of the pools.

You now have access to your network drives and Outlook.

Do not save anything to the desktop as it is virtual and gone after you log out.

iPhone/iPad Setup

To add an account to a new iPad/iPhone:

-Mail, Contacts, Calendars
-On the right under Accounts choose Add Account
-Choose Microsoft Exchange
-E-mail is your full address (user@msdpt.k12.in.us)
-Domain: MSDPT
-Username: (your computer login)
-Password: (your normal password)
-Click Next
-It will then provide a place for the Server: activesync.msdpt.k12.in.us
-Click next, then Save.

To change an existing iPad/iPhone to the new server:

-Mail, Contacts, Calendars
-On the right under Accounts choose your work email
-On the window that opens, choose the > to the right of your email address
-Change the Server to mail2-2010.msdpt.k12.in.us (currently it is mail2.msdpt.k12.in.us)
-Click Done

To prepare your machine to be imaged by the Technology Department, please make sure there are no documents on your desktop as these will be lost in the process. 

To see if you have any items that need moved to your H drive, go to your desktop:

The items you need to save would be Office documents for example.  You will need to move them to your H: drive.  You do this by right-clicking on the document and choosing Cut. 

Then go to your H: drive:

Right click on the folder you would like to save to and choose Paste.  The documents will now move from your desktop to your H drive.

To add a printer after you have been imaged, open Internet Explorer and go to this link:


Find and click on the printer you want to install.

On the left side of the screen, under Printer Actions, choose Connect.

A window will pop up asking if you want to install this printer.  Choose Yes.

If you would like to make this the default printer, click on Click here to open the Printers Folder on your machine.

When that page opens, right click on the printer you just installed and choose Set as default printer.

  • Click on the Windows Orb                             (lower left of screen, it’s your new Start Menu button)
  • Choose Devices and Printers
  • Find the printer you want under Printers and Faxes
  • Right click and choose Set as default printer
