Brandon Smith, the Diversity Specials and Tennis Service Representative for Indiana, from the United States Tennis Association (or USTA) spent the day with students from Douglas MacArthur Elementary School in grades 3-5 to help teach and enrich their tennis skills.  It was a fun day of tennis activities, skill building and USTA prizes.  “Tennis is cool! I hope my parents sign me up!” a fourth grade student said after a quick lesson from Mr. Smith.  Local lessons will be available this summer for any child, K-5.  If you are interested, contact Bruce Hartrich at 317-450-3320 or hartrich4@yahoo.com.

Kindergarten Enrollment for 2012—2013

MacArthur  is now enrolling students for the 2012-2013 Kindergarten classes.  In accordance with Indiana state law to be eligible for Kindergarten, a child must be five years of age on or before August 1, 2012. Perry Township is proud to offer full day kindergarten to our residents with no monthly fee. Parents should bring the child’s birth certificate, Social Security card , up-to-date shot  records and proof of residency when coming to school to enroll. We welcome you at any time, but the best days/times are Monday—Friday 9:00—3:00.  A child will not be placed on a class roster or enrolled until these items are presented. If you plan to apply for school choice (see article on back) for your kindergartener, you must register the child at the home school before applying.
Please take this first step in getting your young one off to a great start for their school days!
