Mrs. Stacey Matlock’s AP Physics II students at Southport High School received assistance this semester from an IUPUI graduate student, Luis Palacio. Creating a “Rat Trap Car” was the student assignment. This project is sponsored by the National Science foundation. Students were to given a mouse trap and instructed to make a car that could run on a flat-plane surface and make a figure eight. They were allowed to use any materials with the exception energy sources (e.g. batteries, springs, etc.).
